A strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
Since taking over Atelier de l’Argoat in 2004, Joël Tingaud has continuously stayed ahead of the curve regarding CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and its challenges, implementing the Best Available Techniques (BAT) accessible to the company to advance its societal and environmental impact.
- In mid-2005, the workshop launched a project aimed at drastically reducing waste production.
Our waste-reduction campaign was officially underway—especially crucial given that a Guémené Andouille loses about 70% of its volume during cooking.
- Developing a complementary technique to capture and melt fats resulting from the manufacturing process.
- Transporting, qualifying, and storing the animal oils obtained to replace standard waste.
To achieve this, we partnered with LE GARREC to design and implement a lamellar clarifier, storage tank, and complete oil circulation system.
- Converting animal oil into Biofuel.
The company BIOTHERMIE developed a patented European technology that transforms animal oil into biofuel, boasting excellent combustion qualities with atmospheric emissions situated between natural gas and light fuel oil. This conversion takes place within a reactor engineered by BIOTHERMIE.
- The waste recovery system put in place allowed us to:
- Significantly reduce the environmental impact generated by manufacturing processes (BOD5 / BOD).
- Increase the rate of clean water returned to the wastewater treatment facility.
- Complete LED Relamping:
Our entire workshop underwent a full lighting overhaul, transitioning from energy-intensive fluorescent neon lighting to highly efficient LEDs, significantly lowering energy consumption and our carbon footprint.
Working Conditions & MSDs: A Priority for Employee Well-Being
- Enhanced Workplace Quality of Life:
Accelerated under the guidance of Sandra Bezault, Quality of Life at Work (QLW) has become a key driver for retaining our team—because human well-being sits at the very heart of our business.
- Ergonomic Workspace Improvements:
Upgrading our work tables directly improved daily working conditions in our workshop, leading to a marked decrease in sick leave between 2008 and 2021.
- Equipment & Innovation:
We conducted dedicated research into specialized cutting tools (knives) and continue to evaluate supportive exoskeleton technologies for specific workstations.
- Professional Ergonomics:
In partnership with occupational health doctors, an ergonomics specialist was brought in to continuously refine workstation setups.
- Skill Recognition & Certification (VAE):
We established a Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) program. Every artisan trained to craft our Authentic Traditional Guémené Andouille according to our strict quality standards and the official Code of Practice receives a formal diploma recognizing their expertise and know-how.
Responsibility & Economic Commitments

These commitments include strict adherence to traditional manufacturing codes, guaranteed delivery lead times, and total order quantity accuracy. Today, we take pride in maintaining an exceptionally high customer satisfaction rate, which we constantly strive to improve.
